Hello, my name is Kimberly.
I am both a student as well as self-taught artist. I have spent time learning and refining my abilities in the use of numerous media. I love to use each on their own, or to create mixed media artwork. I am inspired by nature, wildlife and bold rich colors.
I use acrylics, alcohol inks, resin, collage, textures, and mixed media applications. The substrates I use are canvas, YUPO and Nara paper, other various paper types, and both birch boards and rounds.
I generally like to do my alcohol ink paintings on YUPO / Nara synthetic paper or vinyl. Sometimes I mount the completed piece onto a cradled birch board panel. I then add a glassy resin topcoat to finish the piece. I like to create mixed media pieces also, which might include embellishments with textures such as crackle paste, molding paste, gels, vinyl, foil, gold/copper leaf, papers, stones and glass.
I do have some black float frames available, however due to weight and shipping, I do not add frames unless requested. My artwork has the hanging hardware attached, unless specified in the Painting Dimensions section. The hardware can be easily removed if the customer wishes to have the piece framed once received.
I do have prints available in select pieces.
