Eagles are one of my favorite subject to paint.  I used the colors and patterns created by the initial under-pour and allow those details to shine through in the feathers, face and body.  Eagles have a fierce look and I try to capture their details as best I am allowed with regards to paint that is already on the canvas.  Their long sharp beak is a tiny detail but so important to their unique appearance.  I had so much fun bringing a fantasy type scene together in the completed piece.   This piece is sealed with a gloss varnish.
