Wolves are so magical and mystical to me.  This background has a very leathery and rugged vibe.  The colors are beautiful earth tones, black, cream, white, various shades of brown, and burnt sienna which is a rusty desert color.   I tend to spend a lot of time on backgrounds like this as I really want them to frame in the subject.  The painting is sealed with gloss varnish.
